Bigos - Hunter's Stew

Ingredients
- 1 kg Sauerkraut
- 500 g Fresh cabbage
- 400 g Pork shoulder
- 400 g Kielbasa
- 50 g Dried mushrooms
- 200 g Bacon
- 2 large Onions
- 100 g Prunes
Instructions
Sauté onions in bacon fat.
Add diced meats, brown well.
Add rinsed sauerkraut, fresh cabbage, mushrooms.
Add prunes, bay leaf, allspice.
Simmer 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
Best after reheating 2-3 times over days.
💡 Tips & Variations
Traditional recipe says to reheat daily for 7 days. Each reheating improves flavor. Serve with rye bread.
